Poorly managed meetings

I am sure anyone who has worked for a period of time would have attended some poorly managed meetings where it involved too many unrelated stakeholders, no agenda, lack of information provided, no structure, alot of rubbish chat and might even turn out to be a social event. Some meetings are just a waste of time. However, no one can dispute the power of meetings. Organise it the right way and meetings can solve many problems. Some effective meetings I have seen are daily standup meetings in an AGILE development environment or a strategy brainstorming session.

Enterprise 2.0 is something similar to having meetings. Organise it the wrong way and everyone will be wasting their time. Make sure that the structure of the tool is what your users want and it fits the business requirements. Ensure that the content discussed is relevant and if it goes off the course, make sure there is someone that is able to steer the discussion back on track.
